Families

YSP welcomes families and aims to be as family-friendly as possible. In the open air, children are free to run around, making the most of our 500 acres of historic parkland. 

With 80 works in the open air, there are many hidden treasures to hunt for, and unlike traditional galleries, at YSP you can touch many of the sculptures. Family favourites in the Park include Playground by artist collective Greyworld, a musical sculpture that children will love to step across, and Crawling by Sophie Ryder, a half-woman, half-hare made from casts of domestic items and plastic toys.

Families will also enjoy walks around the lakes and surrounding woodland where they'll discover bridges, follies and incredible historical features including a Greek-style summer house, a now land-locked Boat House, an Obelisk, Stepping Stones and a magical Shell Grotto.

YSP was longlisted in the 2012 Kids in Museums Family Friendly Award. YSP supports the Kids in Museums Manifesto.

Season of Play 2018

Soak up a spectacular summer and celebrate a ‘Season of Play’ summer 2018. Throughout the holidays, enjoy a series of playful events and activities which invite visitors to play across the 500-acre landscape.

Every day of the week, pick up a 50 Ways to Play guide, packed with wild and wonderful free things to do around the Park, including: pooh sticks; creating your own natural sculpture; and the WILD Explorer Nature Trail. Or, try out our web app Sculpture Cam, to experience and interact with the sculptures from literally every angle!

Summer Pass

Enjoy unlimited parking all summer long with our 'Season of Play' summer pass! For £30, visit YSP throughout the summer holidays (23 July–2 September 2018) and benefit from free parking all day, every day as well as discounts in YSP Shop, the restaurant, cafes, and on our picnic packages.
